Now It Doesn't Matter

Now It Doesn't Matter

An orb of iridescent light
striding off into the dark of night
Glances down at the spots on the
ebony cloak it has donned tonight.

Some specks of cosmic dust is all,
so small as not to matter.
No time to pause and flick them off,
It will have to wait til later.

Each insignificant little speck,
in it's own elliptical path, felt
smug in thinking it the leader.
The atmosphere around their world
neglected for so long
was to be their biggest downfall
The cloak is shook, the specks are gone.
Now it doesn't matter.

The Cracked Window

The Cracked Window

He peered through the grimy, cracked window.
The cracks--an intricate spiderweb pattern,
let him view the world through many eyes,
each view distorted and no two views the same.
The same scene-- different perspective.

His view dulled by the grime on the window,
colored his world a washed-out array of
water colors. Once vivid and new--now a
hazy, smudge in his eyes.
The same scene -- different perspectives.

Dark Side

Dark Side

I hate the way you are, the way that you walk
Don’t need a reason to cut your tongue, prevent you to talk

I’m a mean mother you have no clue
I’ll bust up your mouth leave you barely to chew

You don’t know me, I’m not your friend.
My guns drawn, just around the bend

I’m the most feared foe of all
Break your knees, leave you to crawl

I’m the worst person to have around
I’ll cut off your fingers, let them lay on the ground

Just when you don’t expect anymore
I’ll slit you up, bleeding crimson on the floor

Don’t leave me a choice to mess with you
I’ll leave you in pain, and this is true

Dissect your brains, eat them like a cannibal
Can’t you see, I’m a ferocious animal

Take a minute before you judge
I’m the last person you’d want to nudge

I’ll come swinging back like a renegade
Just to cut you in half like a samurai blade.

Psycho

Psycho

Sometimes I go a little ballistic
A couple notches past twisted, mad and sadistic

I swing my bat at the top of my game
Hit you in the head leave you, breathless in pain

Conscious and aware now, you reach for the phone
I break your are, feel the crack of the bone

I have to reason or shame for the attack
The room begins to spin and go black

My heart beats so hard, thumping and booming
My mind a blur, don’t know what I’m doing

Take out a knife and begin to slash
Crimson spills to the floor as I twist and thrash

Screw mind over matter, I’m crazy and psycho
The temperature of my blood, seventy below

I’ve turned into a cold blooded killer
Want to feel my wrath? Make it a thriller?

Blank Stare

Blank Stare

Paper in front of me totally blank
My mind starts to work, like a vocabulary bank

I sit and think for a few
My pen started writing, and out it flew

So many words coming from everywhere
I write them down without even a care

More & more they start to flow
Where they come from, I don’t know

It just happens all of the sudden
My mind goes wild and starts a floodin’

I jot them down as quickly as I can
I loose track of time that’s span

It’s a good way for me to spend my time
Just sit back and come up with rhyme after rhyme

Good Intentions

Good Intentions

I’ve paved a road with good intention
Which my last poems have neglected to mention

I try to take care of everyone
But often forget to look out for number one

No one else is going to do it for you
Don’t hold your breath, you just turn blue

Even when you have a good plan
You have to stick to it the best you can

Sometimes it’s hard to keep on track
But think of all the money you can stack

No matter what comes your way
Do what’s right, that’s all I can say

Lead you life wisely, yesterday, today and tomorrow
For time is surely something you cannot borrow

New Life

New Life

The thunder rolls
Rain fills holes

Lightening a flashin’
Loud noises a clappin’

Winds blow hard
Breezes cover the yard

Mud starts to slide
Rains to subside

Clouds begin to clear
Sun pokes out about near

The end of a shower
Brings life, a new born flower

High Noon

High Noon

The sun gets high
Almost to the middle
Of the baby blue sky

The dew is fine
Most of the leaves
As green as limes

Listen to the creek
As it passes by
Babbling from a peak

A single fish splashes
The color of gold
Shimmers and flashes

Geese land in the lake
To use the water
A bath to take

From here through noon
The sun is bright
Eventually eve come soon

The Devil In Me

The Devil In Me

I want to look in the mirror and recognize my face
Don’t put me back,

in that God awful place

Send me to rehab, far, far away
Eventually to come back a changed man,
At the end of the day

I’ll never understand the department of corrections
It’s an anomostic place,

full of miss-directions

Jail doesn’t teach you what not to do
It’s life with criminals,

unable to construe

I’ve been blamed for things , that I’ve done
When influenced by alcohol,

skitso I become

The devil takes over and my morals they flunk
I’m not the same person,

when I am drunk

I’ve done my research, my theories are true
I am not in control,

when the things I do

When I am sober, I put this in writing
To remember the other half,

the battle I’m fighting

Please believe I hate this useless hack
I wish this person away,

and never come back

How can I possible survive his wrath
I want to control it,

take the right path

Please see through the despair and shame
Never again will I be the same

I’ve lost battles, but will win this war
To get my life back now, and forever more.

Dawn of Day

Dawn of Day

Hear a cricket chirp
The coffee pot on
A single perk

The sun's a risin’
Off to the east
A foggy horizon

A deer out back
Exploring around

 an early snack

A squirrel darts up a tree
To get a better view

 to show off for me

Morning's coming to an end
See the rays
Peer around the bend

A vibrant start
To a day that is
Morning to part.

The Life I Want: Clean & Sober

The Life I Want: Clean & Sober

Yet again I’ve slipped back into a hole
Only now I must come clean and cleanse my soul

Why do I do the things that I do?
There’s no one to blame, but my disease for the brew

I’m an alcoholic and this I know
I need help, so rehab I’ll go

When I drink I’m a different person
I black out till morning, this is certain

I know my family is behind me
But getting to the point, they may disown the

I’ve been giving more than one chance
A drinking problem I have, the truth I dance

The next day I don’t remember anything
It’s guilt in my stomach, the sickness I bring

I haven’t done anything worth taking my life
I want to grow old some day, maybe kids & a wife

I’ll do whatever it takes to make this right
But please don’t make me sit in hell for one more night

I’ve turned to god many times before
Asked him for forgiveness, to settle the score

I’d give up my life to stay out of jail
My life is credit, I’d use it as bail

Please don’t make me go back again
I’m following God, my only true friend.

A Self Reflection Poem

A Self Reflection Poem

At times I sit and ponder
And my thoughts begin to wander
I look forward with my eyes to what I see

Brooding thoughts of thunder
My heart begins to wonder
What it is that I’m supposed to be

So, I observe this world around me
And in truth it does confound me
Though my searchings fail to make things any clearer

These eyes that feed perceptions
May be skewed, and need corrections
I imagine as a step up to my mirror

Then a thought did strike upon me!
Realized sweetest irony
That what we see with we can never see

But one may use reflections
Handy tools in soul dissections
To gaze into the gaze that one calls Me

And though the vision may be backward
And its message slightly awkward
It says, “I am what I am meant to be.”

And that will have to be enough.

Different Strokes

Different Strokes

When we are all just two legged mammals

Why do some people act like animals

Does it simple have to do with global position

Or are morals lost in recent transition

Is it a thoughtless act, like bees to honey

Does it have to do with the amount of money

I we all had the same amount of respect

We’d all get along, or so I’d expect

People are treated the way the are

Due to the fact that they’re under par

Truth be told if we’re all the same

Same things go on with no one to blame

But the way we are, we blame the poor

After it all it seems to settle the score

Bad people

Bad people

Think about what makes people tick

What goes on in their minds to make them sick

The world is a funny place I know

Wonder what’s the difference between friend or foe

Well let me tell you what I think

Keep your eyes open try not to blink

First they’re people that are born this way

They walk around not caring what they say

Second there are a breed called thieves

The steal others things to suppress their needs

Last is a group that we all love to hate

These are the people that kill, molest and rape

I wish I could conjure up a spell

Take all these people and send them to hell

But for now I’ll just have to wonder

Why humans rob, pillage and plunder

Gideons

Gideons

Help in time of need

This is from the book which I read

You say you can’t be saved

After reading this Psalm, you’ll have to rave

The twenty third of this simply states

That I will be protected by the greats

I shall dwell in the house of the lord

If I don’t, this life I can’t afford

I read this book and take it seriously

I stay up all night and translate deliriously

My life should be forever by the book

If not then my ass for sure shall cook.

Leaving You

Leaving you

I wake up next to you in bed

Comb your hair, and pet your head

As you slowly open your eyes

I’m here to stay, you soon realize

Half awake you flash me a smile

Just to let me know, you’ll be here a while

As we lay hand in hand

Us together just as we planned

I caress you neck and kiss your cheek

It’s not like I’m leaving you for a week

I can’t bare the though of leaving

Won’t be able to take the pain and grieving

But I must leave for a little time

When I get back you’ll soon be mine

Dreams

Dreams

You ever have one of those dreams

Wake up wondering what it means

You try to remember the important parts

But out of you mind, it quickly darts

You hope if you go back to sleep

The visions of the dream will soon repeat

You try and try with no success

The details have left, a blurry mess

Your eyes wide open, mystery to crack

Maybe next time you sleep, they’ll come back

Minds eye

Minds eye

What most people don’t want to believe

In my minds eye I can see

I’ve been told my veil is thin

For that I can see spiritual kin

Sometimes I feel something weird

To most people energy and ghosts are feared

I’ve learned to channel my visions

To tell people about them is my decision

It happens all of the time

Sometimes it shocks me, sometimes I’m fine

It happens in the weirdest places

Like next to me at the florist buying vases

Why did these spirits have to chose me

I’ve gotten over the burden, it just has to be

Though most people are often skeptical

I am proof of a living receptacle

Times up

Times up

My time is soon to come

Where I’m free to go, to and from

My thoughts are so happy, I confess

To be relieved from this burden of stress

Outside is where I belong

My reason here hasn’t been wrong

I’ve done my requested time

Learn not to repeat my crime

My stay will soon be up

As the last few drops in a cup

Once out I’ll leave this state

Start my life over, clear the slate

Dodged a bullet, saved from a knife

All I want is a second chance at life

Angel of Mine

Angel of Mine

A poem for my sweetest love

A beautiful angel, gift from above

Oh so bad, I miss your smell

To be caught again in your spell

Your body I will caress

To relieve built up stress

Sitting in this cell makes me mad

I want you now, I want you so bad

To hold you once more in my arms

Not to be woke, to breakfast alarms

Soon again we’ll be together

As two love birds, flock to feather
